Gruver – Mrs. Paul H. (Mae) [Willa Mae] Graves, 89, Gruver, died Thursday [November 9, 1978] morning at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Services for Mrs. Graves will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Gruver Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements, where friends may call until 2 p.m. Saturday, when the body will be taken to the church.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hoff, she was born May 2, 1889, at Traer. She was married to Paul H. Graves on Sept. 18, 1907, at Hammond, Ind., and the couple moved to Gruver following their marriage, where they lived since.

The late Mr. Graves operated grain elevators in Gruver, Maple Hill and Huntington.

Mrs. Graves is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Geraldine) Powell, Anamosa; one son, Myron P. Graves, Spirit Lake; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, parents, one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 10, 1978)
