Last Rites for Guy L. Cooper at Estherville
Guy LeRoy Cooper was born at Ocheydan, Iowa, January 2, 1887, and passed away at the Kossuth hospital, Algona, Tuesday, November 9, 1943. He was the oldest son of Wm. A. and Mary H. Cooper, both of whom preceded him in death. With the exception of five years in Algona and one and one-half years in Humboldt, his life was spent in Ocheydan. He was united in marriage to Mary C. Weatherwax January 26, 1907, at Ocheydan, and to this union were born four children all of whom, with the wife and mother, survive.Failing Health
In the past few years his health had been failing, but prior to that he had been active through the years. In Osceola county he was a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic lodge, was vice president of the Osceola County Fair, president of the township school board, a township trustee and an officer in the Farm Bureau.Survivors
Surviving him are his wife and four children, Gregory of Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Lester Sidles, of Estherville; Delmar L. of Algona; and Mrs. Clelland Johnson, of Fairmont, Minn. Three sisters and six grandchildren also survive. (Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, November 18, 1943)
