Alex Kober Died in California, Tuesday
Alex Kober, well known to many Estherville people, died at Los Angeles, Calif., on Tuesday, May 12th. M. R. McTigue received the telegram telling of his death. Mike was a sort of guardian for Alex while he was here and told him when he died he wanted to be buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. Alex took all his money with him when he sold his residence property here last fall and Mike has no money to his credit with which to bring the remains back. It appears from reading the telegram that he died very suddenly. Mr. Kober was a well known Estherville citizen for years. He owned the building next to the monument works on the east side of the park. Mrs. Kober passed away some two years ago and then Alex went west to live. His many friends here will be grieved to learn of his death. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, May 20, 1925)
