Estherville – Services for Mary Clare Wilson, 100, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian church with the Rev. John Bowe officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Thursday, Jan. 24, 1985 at the Good Samaritan Center.Fuhrman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mary Clare Wilson was born June 21, 1884 in Emmet County, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Fletcher) Fuller. She received her education in the Center Township Schools and graduated from Center Township High School in 1906. On Jan. 6, 1909 she was united in marriage with Walter W. Wilson in Emmet County. Following marriage the couple lived in Cedar Rapids and Estherville where he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad. He died in 1944.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville where she was very active in all church functions including many years as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star; a past Matron; and a 75 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ethlyn Wilson, Storm Lake; three grandchildren: Lynne Tyroler, Warrensburg, Mo., Lee Wilson, LeMars, and Lois Crouch, Fenton; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Edward and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 26, 1985)
