Mrs. Anna M. West
Mrs. Anna M. West died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.E. Gaylord, last week Tuesday evening. She had been ill for a number of weeks. Funeral service was held from the Gaylord home Thursday afternoon and burial made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. West was born at Saratoga Spring, N.Y., April 28, 1830. She married J.W. West in 1848. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1840, to Cedar Falls, in 1868, and later they moved to Sioux Falls. Mr. and Mrs. West came to Estherville to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Gaylord. In December, 1902, Mr. West died. Mrs. West was an excellent lady respected by all. All join in sympathy to the son and daughter, W.W. West of Cedar Falls, and Mrs. A.G. Gaylord of this place, and other relatives in sorrow. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 6, 1912)

Death of Mrs. Anna M. West
Mrs. Anna M. [Anna Maria Keitsh] West died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.E. Gaylord, on north Sixth street, Tuesday evening, February 27th, at 10:30, after an illness of several weeks. Her death was due principally to old age. She was nearly eighty-two years of age. She was born at Saratoga Spring, N.Y., April 28, 1830, was married to J.W. West, September 1, 1848, and moved to Fondulac, Wisconsin. Four children were born to them, two of whom are now living, W.W. West of Cedar Falls, and Mrs. A.E. Gaylord, of this city. Mr. and Mrs. West came to Iowa in 1868 and located at Cedar Falls. Later moved to Sioux Falls, S.Dak., where they resided for several years. They came to Estherville to make their home with Mrs. A.E. Gaylord in 1902. In December of the same year Mr. West died.

Mrs. West was a genial and kindhearted lady, always ready to help those in need and had a kind and comforting word for those in distress. She had a jovial and happy disposition. She had lived a good Christian life and was ready to make her Savior.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Gaylord home and the remains interred in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, March 6, 1912)
