Mrs. Zerke Rites Tuesday
Theresa Regina Zerke, 83, of Estherville died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital as the result of a stroke.

She was born May 13, 1889, at Ayrshire, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Zitterich.

She was married to John Zerke in 1906 and lived in Estherville the rest of her life. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Brown and Mrs. Vivian Freed of Estherville, Mrs. Bernice Short of Phoenix, Ariz., five grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Edwin Zitterich of Graettinger, Louis Zitterich of Sherburn; one sister, Mrs. Susanna Spoo of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. at Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. today and until time of service Tuesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 15, 1972)
