Retired Terril Farmer, 90, Dies at Home
Michael Zelinsky, 90, died at 3 a.m. today at his home in Terril. He had been in failing health but was not bedfast until a few days before his death.Mr. Zelinsky was born Sept. 27, 1862, in Germany. He married Mata [Meta] Johansen [Johnson] and came to this country in 1891. The couple settled first in Shelby county where Mr. Zelinsky worked as a section hand on the railroad. However, the Zelinskys farmed most of their married life, most of the time in Emmet and Dickinson counties. They retired and moved to Terril in 1936. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church in Terril.
His wife died in 1945. Surviving his death are two sons, Fred of Terril and Alfred of Indianola, and two daughters, Mrs. Glen Partlow of Stewart and Mrs. Otto Hanson of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Funeral services tentatively have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Terril Lutheran church, the Rev. Walter Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery here. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 5, 1953)

Funeral services for Michael Zelinsky, 90-year-old Terril resident who died Monday [January 5, 1953] will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Sternborg funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church in Terril, the Rev. Walter Mueller officiating. Mr. Zelinsky’s body will lie in state at the Sternborg funeral home this evening. His body will be returned to Estherville for burial at Oakhill cemetery.
