Alphonse White, 83, Dies at Home of Daughter
Alphonse White, 83, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Smith of Superior. He died at 12:15 a.m. today.Born May 4, 1869, in Stillwater, Minn., he was educated and reared there. He married Rose Mader of Chokio, Minn., and the couple farmed in Minnesota, near Minot, N.D., and homesteaded in Montana in 1909.
When his wife died in 1947, Mr. White moved to his daughter’s farm a mile north of Superior.
He was a member of the Catholic church.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Smith of Superior, Mrs. O.H. Moog of Inverness, Mont., and Mrs. E.W. Seidlitz of Chester, Mont., two sons, William White of Nashua, Mont., and Herb White of Inverness; 27 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday or Friday in Inverness. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 22, 1952)
