Arthur Peterson
Estherville – funeral services for Arthur Peterson, 67, Estherville, are tentatively set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Estherville, with burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Peterson had been employed by the DEK.

Survivors include his wife, Doretha [Frank] ; two daughters, Judy Higgs, Reno, Nev.; and Mrs. William (Kay) Karns, Reno, Nev.; one son, Steven Peterson, O’Neill, Neb.; six grandchildren; one brother, Harold Peterson, Estherville; three sisters, Mrs. Mervin (Pearl) Thompson, Kewaskum, Wis.; Mrs. Mae Langmo, Manitou Springs, Colo.; and Mrs. Howard (Marian) Rusk, West Des Moines.

Friends may call at the Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, all day Sunday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 4, 1976)

Arthur Peterson
Estherville – Arthur Andrew Peterson, 66, Estherville, died June 4, at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church with the Rv. Max Goldman officiating and burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Henry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Peterson was born Oct. 4, 1909 at Gowrie to Otto and Bertha Peterson and was educated in the Worthington, Minn., schools after his family moved to Worthington in 1913. He moved to Estherville in 1934 and his family farmed in the Huntington area.

He was married to Doretha Frank Jan. 11, 1936 at Estherville and was a carpenter in the Estherville area for a short time. Mr. Peterson worked for the DEK from 1941 to 1959 then moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., until 1962 when he returned to Estherville. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Doretha; one son, Steven Peterson, O’Neill, Neb.; two daughters, Judy Higgs, Reno, Nev.; and Mrs. William (Kay) Kearns, Reno, Nev.; six grandchildren; one brother, Harold Peterson, Estherville; three sisters, Mrs. Mervin (Pearl) Thompson, Kewascum, Wis.; Mrs. Mae Langmo, Manitou Springs, Colo.; and Mrs. Howard (Marian) Rusk, West Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 7, 1976)
