Estherville – Services for Myrtle Payne, 79, of Estherville will be held at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. She died Wednesday, January 26, 1994 at the Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born March 15, 1914 in Forest City, the daughter of Ole and Mary (Smith) Enderson and received her education in the Armstrong and Maple Hill schools. She has lived all her life in the Armstrong and Estherville area. She was employed by the Soo Valley Fish Line, P.G. Gray and Co. and Estherville Foods prior to her retirement in 1979. She was a babysitter for many families in Estherville. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Estherville.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ed (Sally) Nitchels of Estherville, Mrs. Lee (Helen) Nitchals of Estherville and Mrs. Robert (Annabelle) Soat of Spirit Lake; three sons, George Payne of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, Jerry Payne of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. and Jim Payne of Los Angeles, Cal.; three brothers, Clarence Enderson of Estherville, Dewey Enderson of Estherville and Art Johnson of Graettinger; three sisters, Anna Fox of Pine River, Minn. and Mrs. George (Margaret) Manley of Armstrong; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 27, 1994)
