Estherville – Services for Ruth Lungren, 87, of Estherville, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, with Dr. Mike Thiel officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Wednesday, August 10, 1994 at Holy Family Hospital.

She was born April 4, 1907 at Glidden, the daughter of Arthur and Elva (Minor) Yates and moved with her family to the Estherville area in 1913 where she attended school and graduated from high school in 1925. On July 2, 1925 she was united in marriage with Carl Sawyer at Spirit Lake. He died in August of 1959. She worked at the Robinson Jewelry Store and Estherville Drug Store a number of years. On Jan. 26, 1970 she married Oscar Lungren at Windom, Minn. He died Jan. 3, 1971. She was a member of the Christian Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Harold Sawyer of Estherville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Arnold Yates, Estherville and Glen Yates, Ankeny; sisters: Edna Webster and Mrs. Emory (Alice) Prentice, both of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; one son; one infant daughter, one grandson and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1994)
