Rites for St. Ansgar Farmer to Be Held Friday in Mason City
Charles Theodore Harcourt, 71, farmer who resided near St. Ansgar for the past 22 years, died at a local hospital at 7 o’clock Tuesday night following an illness of about four weeks. He had been at the hospital nine days.Mr. Harcourt was born June 9, 1869, in Indiana, the son of Theodore and Nancy Snow Harcourt. He was married to Miss Nellie Jones and to this union were born two sons and five daughters, William Harcourt, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; E.V. Harcourt, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. J. L. Munson, Baldwin Park, Cal.; Mrs. Dell S. Blake, Spencer; Mrs. Lee Prothers, Minneapolis; Mrs. L.A. Block, Davenport; Mrs. Vernon Anderson, Estherville.
Mr. Harcourt was preceded in death by his first wife in 1914. In 1918 he was married to Mrs. Margaret Feldt, who survives him. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. William Dawson, Broadripple, Ind., and one brother, Sam Harcourt, Erie, Penn., and his seven children, 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Eight step-children, Mrs. Walter Gutman, Randall, Minn.; Alvin Feldt, Wykoff, Minn.; Clarence Feldt and Laura Holmes, Chicago; Lawrence and Edwin Feldt, and Alice Ellingson, Carpenter, and Willard Feldt, at home, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock at the Patterson funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Ide, pastor of the Rock Creek Lutheran church, of which Mr. Harcourt was a member, in charge. A service will also be held at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at the cemetery in Estherville. Charles T. Harcourt, a former resident of this vicinity, died at a hospital in Mason City Tuesday evening, July 16th, at the age of 72 years. Mr. Harcourt lived here until 22 years ago when he moved to St. Ansgar, Iowa.Surviving Mr. Harcourt are: his widow, Mrs. Margaret Harcourt; two sons, E.V. Harcourt of St. Paul and William Harcourt, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; and five daughters, Mrs. J.L. Munson, Baldwin Park, Calif.; Mrs. Dell S. Blake, Spencer, Iowa; Mrs. Lee Prothers, Minneapolis; Mrs. L.A. Black, Davenport; Mrs. l Vernon A. Anderson, Estherville; and 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Patterson Funeral Home in Mason City at 10 a.m. Friday, with brief services at the grave in Oak Hill cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, July 18, 1940)

Charles Harcourt, a former resident of Estherville, passed away in a hospital in Mason City Tuesday evening, July 16. The Harcourt family resided here for many years. Twenty-two years ago he married Mrs. Margaret Feldt and they moved to St. Ansgar where they have since resided.Funeral services will be held in the Patterson funeral home at Mason City at ten o’clock on Friday morning and there will be a short service at the Oak Hill cemetery at 2:30 that afternoon.
