Estherville – Service for Gladys A. George, 86, of Palmer, Texas will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Mrs. George died July 20 at IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis, Texas. Visitation will be 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.

Gladys A. George was born March 1, 1908 in Superior, Iowa to Thomas and Mabel (Herbranson) Ruckman. She attended school at Superior. She married David M. George on October 8, 1924 in Arnolds Park, Iowa and they made their home in Estherville. Mrs. George was employed by the Birney Hospital and later the Park View Clinic. She moved to Texas in 1984.

Survivors include her daughter, Mable Moser of Palmer, Texas and two sisters; Florence Drangsted, Great Falls, Montana and Barbara Laurine Houts of Desert Hot Springs, California. She is also survived by 3 step-sisters, 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sons and 2 brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 23, 1990)
