Funeral for Mrs. Collins is Friday
The body of Mrs. B. Collins, 73, former resident who died in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sunday [July 26, 1953] will arrive in Estherville tomorrow morning for funeral services here.

Mrs. Collins was born in Traer, the daughter of Patrick and Ellen Carrigg Howe. She married Gail Collins, a former Rock Island conductor, in Estherville and continued to live here for about 30 years. Mr. Collins preceded her in death about 25 years ago.

Surviving her death are two sons, Romaine and Gail, both of Brooklyn; two sisters, Mrs. Fred G. Larsen of Estherville and Mrs. Mary White of Seattle, Wash., and two brothers, C.J. Howe of Texas and J.J. Howe of Tacoma, Wash.

Mrs. Collins’ father, Patrick Howe, was for many years a railroad roadmaster, headquartering in Estherville.

The body of Mrs. Collins will be accompanied to Estherville by her two sons and by Mr. and Mrs. F. Foran of Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic church, the Rev. Father James H. Duhigg officiating.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Sternborg Funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home from tomorrow noon up to time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 29, 1953)
