Spirit Lake – Services for Hazel Sangster Smuck were held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville, Thursday, with the Rev. Henrietta KIarenbeek of the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church officiating. She died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1989 at Hilltop Care Center where she has lived since 1980.

She was born July 9, 1895 at Estherville, the daughter of Charles and Amanda (Beachler) Sangster. She married Roy Coleman in 1915, they farmed near Terril and Superior. He died in 1949. In 1951 she married Clyde Smuck and they lived in Spirit Lake. He died in 1976.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Coleman, Arnolds Park; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands, two sons and one great grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 30, 1989)
