1919-1979
Estherville – Fred (Johnny) Clark, 60, Estherville, died Wednesday [September 19, 1979] morning at his home.

Services for Mr. Clark will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville. Military graveside services will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville.

Friends may call at the funeral home until 10 p.m. Friday.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Clark, he was born May 26, 1919, at Dakota City, Neb. He received his education in Sioux City schools and was married to Florence Mason on Aug. 31, 1941, at South Sioux City, Neb.

The couple moved to Estherville in 1947, where Mr. Clark was employed by Tobin Packing Company and later John Morrell and Company until being forced to retire because of health in 1976. He is a veteran of World War II, a member of the Estherville VFW and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Florence, Estherville; three sons, Raymond Clark, Alan Clark and Mark Clark, all of Estherville; six daughters, Mrs. Francis (Patricia) Krause, Massena, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Moore, Emmetsburg, Mrs. Robert (Deanna) Helmick, Mrs. Ronald (Peggy) Wilkins and Mrs. David (Nancy) Harr, all of Estherville, and Mrs. Domingo (Janie) Sanchez, Schyuler, Neb.; 24 grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. John (Rose) Krommenhoek, Namapa, Idaho, Mrs. Dale (Minnie) Athey, Hale, Mo., and Mrs. Frank (Bessie) Howell, Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 20, 1979)
