The funeral of little three year old Alice Starkey, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Starkey was held at the Presbyterian church in Gruver Thursday afternoon, Rev. Davies of Estherville preaching the funeral sermon with Rev. Koenig assisting. The little one had died at Rochester following an operation for the removal of a nickel which had lodged in her throat. The body was taken to Streator, Ill., Thursday afternoon and funeral services were held Friday. Father, mother and two sisters are left to mourn the death of the little one. The family have moved to Streator to make their future home. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, February 24, 1926)
