The home of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Bucknam [Buckman] has been filled with deep sorrow. After a short illness their darling baby boy died with whooping cough Saturday morning. Before coming down with the cough the little fellow had been suffering with intermittent fever, and was so weak that he soon succumbed to the dread malady. It is a terrible blow to the doting parents, and the sympathy of the entire community is enlisted in their behalf. Rev. J. N. Liscomb spoke words of comfort to the sorrowing parents, and the interment was made in the west side cemetery.

In this connection the parents desire us to return their heartfelt thanks to the many kind friends who assisted them during the sickness and death of their darling baby. (Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, March 30, 1893)
