Obituary of Charles V. Bryan
Charles V. Bryan was born in Independence, Iowa, February 14, 1877, was taken sick Nov. 18th, 1927, and passed away Dec. 23 at 4 a.m. at the age of 50 years, 10 months and 9 days. The greater part of his younger life was spent in Minnesota farming.

In the year of 1905 he went to work for Chicago Rock Island R.R. firing, was promoted to engineer in 1910. He was united in marriage to Eva Johnson at Cedar Rapids in 1908. Since that time for the greater part he has made his home in Estherville.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife and daughter, M----, his mother and three sisters, and other relatives and friends. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 28, 1927)

Charles Bryan Dies; Engineer on Rock Island
Charles Bryan, 50, who was taken sick Nov. 18 died Friday morning at 4 o’clock. Services were conducted Monday afternoon by the Rev. F. Yearnd at the Baptist church and burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Charles V. Bryan was born Feb. 14, 1877, at Independence, Iowa. He spent the greater part of his younger life farming in Minnesota.

In the year 1905 he went into the employ of the Rock Island, serving as fire man until 1910 when he promoted to locomotive engineer.

He was united in marriage in 1908 to Eva Johnson at Cedar Rapids. Since that time he has made his home most of the time at Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, Madilin, his mother, and three sisters. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, December 28, 1928)
