Ivan O. [Oscar] Timmons, 69, Estherville, died Sunday [October 1, 1978] at his home here.

Services for Mr. Timmons will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Steven Wold officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home until time of services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Timmons, he was born Jan 5, 1909, at Churdan. He attended rural schools and graduated from Emmet Consolidated High School.

Mr. Timmons was married to Christina Ahrens Nov. 14, 1930, at Canton, S.D. the couple farmed northeast of Estherville for 20 years, operated Irene's Grocery for 8 1/2 years and Ivan's Drive In from 1962 to 1971. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, Christina, Estherville; one son, Robert Timmons, Greenbush, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Anita) Glover, Princeton, Minn., Mrs. Doug (Susan) Dunker, Jackson, Minn., and Mrs. Allen (Kathy) Kaltved, Estherville; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Iseminger, Estherville, and Mrs. Dorothy Klingbeil, Baudette, Minn.

Mr. Timmons was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 2, 1978)
