Cape Coral, Fla. – Darlene (Knudtson) Westrem, 60, of Cape Coral, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 1994 at the Cape Coral Hospital. Services were conducted Friday in the Chapel of the Phil Kiser Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallce Spielman officiating. Interment was at Coral Ridge Cemetery at Cape Coral.

She was the daughter of Ted and Clara Knudtson of Graettinger and attended Graettinger School. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She married Merrill Westrem of Estherville on April 23, 1953 at Jackson, Minn. They have lived in Florida several years.

She is survived by her husband, Merrill of Cape Coral; four sons: Rick Westrem, Fort Myers, Fla., Larry of Lehigh Acres, Ron of Matlacha and Dan of Cape Coral; two daughters, Cindy Briggs and Mrs. David (Julie) Daniel of Cape Coral; one brother, Leland Knudtson, Estherville; three sisters, Ethel Jensen, Jackson, Minn.; Evelyn Larson, Spencer and Pearl Johnson, Estherville and her mother-in-law, Lottie Westrem also of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 24, 1994)
