Estherville – Services for Herb C. Weber, 90, Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with interment in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Weber died Tuesday [July 24, 1979] at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9:30 a.m. Saturday ant at the church prior to services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weber, he was born Oct. 4, 1888, at Fonda. He received his education in Fonda schools and was married to Rose Meyer at Varina on Jan. 17, 1912.

The couple lived in Pocahontas, where he worked as a butcher, and in Algona, where he was a clerk, until moving to Estherville in 1929. He operated a grocery store in Estherville and also was a long-time city employee. He also was Santa Claus in Estherville for 19 years. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in January.

Mr. Weber is survived by his wife, Rosa, and one daughter, Betty Weber, Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 27, 1979)
