Estherville – Services for Glenn K. Strom, 75, of Estherville, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.He died Monday, Aug. 22, 1994 at Holy Family Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born September 12, 1918 at Toole County, Montana, the son of Gust and Christina (Hauen) Strom. He started his education in rural schools in Toole County, Mont., and at the age of six moved with his parents to Lansford, N.D. They lived there nine years before moving to Mauston, Wis. where he finished high school. Following high school he was employed in the printing trade in the Mauston area moving to Estherville in July, 1942 where he was employed at the Estherville Daily News. In November 1942 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during World War Two. He returned to Estherville and was again employed at the Estherville Daily News from 1946 to 1959 when he was employed by Niemoth Printing Co. in Estherville for several years, retiring due to poor health.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Strom of Estherville; a brother, Stanley Strom of Highland, Wis.; nephew: Tom Strom, Bangor, Wis.; Nieces: Sue Wolfe, Nancy Gundlach and Jane Menke of Highland and Judy Belken, Montfort, Wis. and Mary Jean Strom of San Diego.
He was preceded in death by his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 24, 1994)
