Spielman, 51, Dies After Heart Attack
Kenneth R. Spielman, 51, resident of Ceylon, Minn., and Estherville, died Sunday [January 9, 1966] at 6:30 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital, his death attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Spielman suffered a heart attack Monday evening at his home and was taken to the hospital at that time. Yesterday morning he suffered a fatal attack at the hospital.

Kenneth Raymond Spielman was born June 12, 1914, at Twin Valley, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Spielman. He received his education in Minneapolis.

He was married Aug. 8, 1937, to Lois Marie Mason in Minneapolis. Later he was married Jan. 20, 196 to Leola Colton at Sioux Falls.

From 1951-1965 Mr. Spielman farmed near Ceylon and was cashier at the State Bank of Ceylon 1951-1965. Last fall he retired and he and Mrs. Spielman moved to Estherville.

Since living in Estherville they had attended Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Leola; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Sherill) Nutt of Fairmont, and Sarah, at home; two sons, Leonard of Minneapolis, and K. Clifford Spielman of the United States Marine Corps at Quantico, Va.; and one granddaughter.

Also surviving are two brothers, Wayne of San Carlos, Calif., and Ervin of Minneapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Fern Foth, Mrs. Chester Pogodzinski and Mrs. Leon Johnson, all of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Family funeral services are to be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Reese Funeral Home. At 2 p.m. church services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Denzil Neumann officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until noon Wednesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the 2 p.m. services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 10, 1966)
