Estherville – Services for Shirley Jacobson, 66, of Estherville will be held Tuesday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Saturday, June 3 at Marian Health Care Center in Sioux City.Visitation will be held today, Monday, June 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. A Parish Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born February 25, 1929 in Antigo, Wis. The daughter of John and Mary Doucette and received her education in the Antigo schools graduating from Antigo High School. She was united in marriage to Arnold E. Jacobson; on October 20, 1956 in Antigo. After their marriage they lived in Antigo for several years. They later moved to Ruthton, Minn. and arrived in Estherville in 1971. She was employed for a short time at Wadco Foods in Estherville.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. John (Barb) Koskovich of South Sioux City, Neb.; Mrs. Mick (Donna) Prather of Estherville; Mrs. Monte (Debra) Hoffmeyer of Estherville; Mrs. Arlo (Linda) Anderson of Estherville, one son, Gary Jacobson of Estherville; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Delores Doucette of Antigo; Sue Doucette of Antigo; Mrs. James (Mary Ann) Hoffman of Antigo; and one brother, Gordon Doucette of Antigo.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 16, 1994, her parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 5, 1995)
