Miss Ellen [Elen] Hagerty died at her home in this city early Monday morning after a lingering illness, aged fifty-seven years. Funeral was held from the Catholic church at 9 o’clock Tuesday and interment made in the Catholic cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, September 8, 1915)

Miss Ellen Hagerty Dead
Miss Ellen Hagerty, who with her sister has resided here for many years, passed away at their home on South Ninth street, on Saturday last. Miss Hagerty has property here and at Boone, Iowa, and has lived at Boone part of the time. The funeral services were held here on Tuesday from the Catholic church, the Rev. Murtagh officiating and the remains were laid to rest in their cemetery south of this city. The remaining sister will move to Boone to make that her home for the present.
