Dr. Ellsworth Rites Set
Dr. Nelson R. Ellswoth, 79, Estherville, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Mrs. Myron Lund, soloist, and Mrs. August Rosenberger, organist, will perform musical selections. Services will be concluded at East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

Nelson R. Ellsworth was born to Fred and Catherine Ellsworth on Feb. 16, 1893, at Eldora. He received his education in Eldora Schools, continuing at Cornell College. He graduated from the University of Iowa School of Dentistry at Iowa City.

On April, 1, 1922, he was married to Alma Juhl at Emmetsburg. Dr. Ellsworth practiced in Des Moines and Terril before coming to Estherville in 1927. He retired in 1961 because of ill health. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of American Legion and of B.P.O.E. Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Alma; one son, Nelson of Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Cleo) Popovich of Huron, S.D.; four grandchildren, Gary, Todd and Jan Ellsworth and Nancy Popovich. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mrs. Anna Perkins; and one brother, Fred Ellsworth.

Honorary pallbearers at his services will be Rollin Edelin, Floyd Gustafson, P.E. Fretem, John Lyman, C.J. Matieson and Vermaine Sidles. Active Pallbearers will be Lee Barnes, Harry Bauman, Dr. William A. Bois, Harold Lange, Dr. J.B. Osher and Robert Perkins.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, until time of services tomorrow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 21, 1972)
