ESTHERVILLE - Mass of Christian Burial for Marian Ruth Origer, 77, of Estherville will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Brian Hughes as Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Vigil Service at 7 p.m.

She died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Marian Ruth (Hupp) Origer, the daughter of Henry and Hermina (Miller) Hupp, was born on Nov. 6, 1932 on a farm in Adrian, Nobles County, Minn.

Marian received her education in Estherville Community Schools, graduating in 1950. She attended Western Union schools and worked in their offices located in Spencer, Waterloo and Fort Dodge. After a few children arrived she became a full-time homemaker or as she liked to refer to her job as a Domestic Engineer. She attended Iowa Lakes Community College and received an AAS as accounting specialist in 1985. She also worked for Higgins Accounting and most recently as the secretary for the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville.

She was united in marriage to John B Origer in Estherville on Jan. 11, 1954. Marian loved to spend time with her family, baking cookies, breads and other baked goods for anyone that wanted them. She especially enjoyed sending her cookies to our military all over the world. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, John Origer, Estherville; children Donald and Beth Origer of Milford, Larry and Deb Origer of Sioux City, Jackie (Origer) Smith of Amarillo, Texas, Samuel and Nicole Origer of Loveland, Colo., Rebecca Origer, Estherville, Allan and Martha Origer of Estherville, Matthew and Ellen Origer Laramie, Wyo. and Daniel and Niki Origer of Estherville; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Charlotte (Hupp) Ohrtman, Bessie (Hupp) Gray
and Ed and Alice (Hupp) Kabele; brother-in-law, William Origer, and his wife, Evelyn, of Estherville; sisters-in-law, Catherine Kueny of Omaha, Neb., Imogene Dessel of Harrison, Ark., Joann Origer of Mesquite, Nev. and JoAnn Origer of Estherville and also by many many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jessie and Johanna.
