Steiner Funeral to Be Monday
Armstrong – Funeral services for Frank J. Steiner, 70, longtime Armstrong resident who died at his home yesterday morning, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church here, the Rev. E.E. Apt officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery at Estherville.Slaba Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 Sunday evening at the Home.
Mr. Steiner was born July 6, 1890, at Mallard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Steiner. He received his education at Mallard and Armstrong schools, moving here while still a boy. In September, 1926, he was married to Margaret Sullivan in Estherville. He operated the Corner Hardware Store here for many years, until his retirement in 1954.
A member of the American Legion, Steiner was a World War I veteran, having served with the Army in France.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Armstrong.
Steiner is survived by his widow; a son, Don of Fairmont, Minn.; and a daughter, Mrs. John Douglas of Belleville, Ill. Also surviving are five grandchildren, a brother, William of Spencer and a sister, Mrs. Bill Leach of Armstrong. Mr. Steiner was the brother-in-law of Mrs. Fred Parsons of Estherville. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 18, 1961)
