Robert G. Knox, Estherville, Dies of Heart Attack
Robert Gordon Knox, 52, Estherville, died shortly after midnight [February 5, 1970] Wednesday at a motel in Clear Lake, S.D. Death was due to a heart attack.

He was born Oct. 15, 1917, at Marcus, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Knox. He was educated in Estherville schools and married Virgil Jean Robinson Oct. 19, 1947.

Knox had moved to Estherville with his father in 1922. As a young man, he worked for the city of Miami, Fla. He returned to Estherville in 1947, where he did long-distance hauling to Philadelphia for about 10 years. At the time of his death, Knox was employed by Jacobson, Inc., local engineering firm. He was working with a crew of the Jacobson company in Clear Lake at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Virgil Jean of Estherville, Barbara, Iowa City, student at the University of Iowa; Roberta, New Hope, Minn.; Patricia, Miami, Fla.; Mary Pat, James, David, Richard, Kenneth, at home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Estherville, with Rev. John McClure officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
