Mrs. Juhl Dies; Rites Are Saturday
Mrs. Thomas Juhl, 68, longtime resident of Emmet county, died about 5 p.m. yesterday. Mrs. Juhl had been hospitalized both at Holy Family hospital and a Des Moines hospital since she became ill July 5 but had been home for the past month.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Detlef Reimer, Bertha Reimer was born Nov. 8, 1886 at Reinbeck. She moved to Emmet county more than 60 years ago marrying Thomas Juhl of Estherville March 9, 1907. They have made their home in or near Estherville since that time.

Mrs. Juhl was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was active in the Fedellas class as long as her health permitted.

Mrs. Juhl is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) West and Mrs. Lawrence (Vivian) Goodwin, both of Estherville; two brothers, Henry of Grand Junction and John of Artesia, Calif., and five grandchildren, Wayne, Virgil, Joyce and Larry West and Donnie Goodwin. One brother, Otto Reimers; a son Elmer Lewis and grandson, Daryl Goodwin preceded Mrs. Juhl in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian church, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 12 noon Saturday until time of services. Burial will be in East side cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 6, 1955)
