On Sunday evening, March 24th, 1872, Anna Katrina, infant daughter of Henry and Eudora L. Jenkins, aged three months and twelve days.

The fond and affectionate mother was visiting with her darling little “Katie”, at her father’s office, Alfred Bixby, Esq., in Fairview township at the time the sad and unexpected event occurred. But little warning was given of the approaching invitation of the little spirit to the – land, as the child had been in its usual health up to a few – before its death. The sorrowing parents have the resigned and entire sympathy of the community.

She died not, but hath flown.
Live, live above all beauties here;
What are those in another sphere –
An angel in their own.”
