Mrs. Gene Hudson, 50, Dies Today
Mrs. Gene Hudson of Estherville, 50, died at 4 a.m. today of a cerebral hemorrhage in Holy Family hospital. She was taken to the hospital at 7:30 p.m. yesterday.

Mrs. Hudson had suffered from high blood pressure for the past four months and spent two weeks in a Rochester hospital in August.

She was born Nov. 16, 1901, in Mallard, and received her education in Palo Alto county public schools. She married Gene Hudson Sept. 27, 1927, in Estherville and lived on a farm near Graettinger until 1939. They have lived on their farm near Estherville since 1939.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by her husband; two daughters, Shirley 11, and Maxine, 8; four sons, Duane, 22, in the service at Ft. Campbell, Ky., Donald, 15; Ivan, 13, and Stanley, 10; her mother, Mrs. Margaret Andre, of Graettinger; six brothers and sisters, John Andre of Osgood, Peter Andre of Whittemore, Mrs. Matt Anderson of Graettinger, Mrs. Willard Fewell of Marsaille, Ill., and Mrs. Ernest Ring of Faribault.

Funeral arrangements are awaiting the arrival of her son, Duane from Kentucky. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 21, 1951)
