Robert Harvey
Estherville – Services for Robert L. Harvey, 74, of Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Monsignor Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999 at Avera Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with Parish Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born May 6, 1924 at Emmetsburg, the son of DeLon and Verna (Harrison) Harvey. He attended school in Emmetsburg and then served with the U.S. Army during WWII as an M.P. in the Army of Occupation in Japan. After the war, he returned to the Terril area and married Ione Determan at St. John’s Catholic Church in Milford on July 15, 1947. The couple lived near Terril and he operated a livestock buying and trucking business a number of years. In 1957 they moved to Estherville where he worked as a salesman for Moorman Feeds until retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville VFW and Terril American Legion Post.

Survivors include his wife, Ione Harvey; daughters, Mrs. Gailen (Connie) Gage, Lakefield, Minn., Mrs. Craig (Julie) Loewenberg, Overland Park, Kans., son, Scott Harvey, Pipestone, Minn., grandchildren: Stacey, Chad, Tracy, Travis, Tanner, Jake, Arianna, Danielle; great-grandson, Michael, sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Jolene) Hansen, Spencer; brother, Ron Harvey, New Hope, Minn.; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 16, 1999)
