Estherville – Funeral services for Louise A. Waters, 97, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 7 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Jerry Cosgrove officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Sunday, June 3, 2001 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6 at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Louis was born on Feb. 26, 1904 in East Chain, Minn., the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Tippett) Tobin. She received her eduction in the Dubuque and Fairmont, Minn. schools graduating from Fairmont High School.

On Jan. 7, 1925 she was united in marriage to Leo T. Waters in Fairmont. The couple made their home in Estherville and also owned and operated the Dancing Waters Resort on Hand Lake, Minn. out of Pine River, Minn.

In 1952 the couple started teaching square dancing and round dancing through schools, clubs and various church groups in the area.

Mr. Waters died on Oct. 5, 1992.

Louise was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary.

She is survived by her son John Waters and his wife, Dorothy of Pine River. Seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Louise has been preceded in death by eight brothers, three sisters, parents, husband and son, Norman.
