Trimont – Service for Ben Blom, 91, of Trimont will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Estherville.

Mr. Blom died Monday [August 13, 1979] of an apparent heart attack at his home. Visitation will be Thursday and until 9:30 a.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home here. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Blom was born Aug. 8, 1888, in Grundy County, Iowa. He was married to Barbara Fank in 1910 at Estherville. They farmed in Martin County. His wife died in 1942.

Survivors include sons, John of Ceylon, Bennie of Dunnell, Raymond of Alexandria, August of California; daughters, Mrs. Chris (Helen) Peterson of Lake Park, Iowa, Mrs. William (Carolyn) Goemann of Fairmont, Mrs. Vernon (Marian) Sands of Shakopee; brothers, Joe of Guckeen, Tom of Ruthven, Iowa; 47 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
