Estherville – Funeral services for Nadine Gudgell, 61, of Estherville will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon. June 23, 1997, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. She died on Thursday, June 19, at her sister’s home in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday with a parish vigil service at 5:30 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on July 19, 1935 in Estherville, the daughter of Floyd and Beatrice (Luksik) Gustafson. She attended Estherville schools and graduated from Estherville High School in 1953. She then attended St. Mary’s College in Denver and St. Catherine’s College in Minneapolis.

She married Donald W. Gudgell on October 20, 1956, in Estherville.

The couple resided in Estherville where she worked at the Estherville Green House for several years before moving to Ames. In 1996 she retired and moved to Bella Vista, Ark., where she lived before returning to Estherville a short time ago due to failing health.

She is survived by a son, Stephen Gudgell of Rochester, Minn.; two daughters, Catherine Greene of West Des Moines and Julie Bynes of Grimes; one sister, JoAnn Tostenson of Estherville; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 20, 1997)
