Longtime City Resident Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Gertie Weber, longtime resident of Estherville, died at 7 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital. She was 75. Cause of death was uremic poisoning.Mrs. Weber was born July 15, 1876 [1877 per cemetery records], in Dallas Center. In the spring of 1912 she moved to a farm east of Estherville with her family and in 1921 moved to 615 Seventh avenue north where she has resided since.
On Jan. 16, 1895, she married Joseph A. Weber. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Ralph Green (Cora) of Lockport, Ill., Harry of Estherville, Glen of Minneapolis and a son, Walter, who died as a youth.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, Jacob and Martha Adrian, a sister and a brother. Her three children, a brother, Charles Adrian of Des Moines, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren survive.
She became a member of the Christian church in 1902 and joined the Presbyterian church in Estherville in 1942.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sandin funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery. Friends may call at the Sandin funeral home after tomorrow noon until time of the services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July7, 1952)
