Carole Kay Haines, 8, Dies After Long Illness
Carole Kay Haines, 8-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Haines, 8 First avenue south, died at 2 a.m. today at the Haines home. She had been ill for some time with leukemia.

Carole was born in Estherville and lived here all her life.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Mahlum and Sandin chapel and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church. The Rev. C.J. Semans will officiate. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 26, 1947)

Carole Haines, 8, Victim Tuesday of Leukemia
Carole Kay Haines, 8-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard (Oley) Haines, passed away early Tuesday morning at her home. She has been ill for some time with leukemia. She was born in Estherville on August 13, 1939 and attended the Estherville schools for two years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:30 from the Sandin Chapel and at 2 o’clock from the Methodist Church, with the Rev. C.J. Semans officiating.

Carole is survived by her mother, father and two brothers. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 28, 1947)
