Mrs. S. Haberman
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church for Mrs. Sophia Nellie Haberman, 73, Estherville, who died at 5 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Hospital.

She had been ill the last years and a half.

Mrs. Haberman was born Feb. 12, 1893, at Forreston, Ill., to John S. and Emma Frey. She was married April 11, 1921, to Frank J. Haberman at Worthington, Minn.

Before moving to Estherville in March, 1942, the Habermans farmed in Lime Creek and Fulda, Minn. areas. Since moving to Estherville she was most recently employed at Stafford’s Café.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by eight sons and daughters, including Cyril Haberman, in the Marine Corps in Quantico, Va.; Leland Haberman, Sioux Falls; Donald Haberman, Estherville; Mrs. Elmo (Elvera) Langfeldt, Spencer; Mrs. Roy (Marie) Wilhelms, Estherville; Mrs. Elmer (Loretta) Peterson, Farmington, Minn.; Mrs. Raymond (Mildred) Rosberg, Estherville; Mrs. Eleanor Reighard, Estherville; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Brothers and sisters surviving her are Mrs. Loretta Fiedler, Pipestone, Minn.; Mrs. Harry Melius, Estherville; Mrs. Grace Christensen, Dundee, Minn.; Simon Frey, Estherville; Perry Frey, Pipestone, Minn.; John Frey, Mankato, Minn.; and Hirem Frey, Port Angeles, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandson.

Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, Pastor G. St. Lawrence will officiate at the funeral service. Reese-Henry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 23, 1971)
