Samuel Hall a resident of Estherville in 1863-4 died in Jackson, where he has lived for a score of years, last Friday, aged 91. At the age of seventy and upwards he was a remarkably well preserved man capable of almost any amount of work. He was a pensioner of the war of 1812, and in all respects served his day and generation well. (Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, December 17, 1886)
