Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Howe were suddenly called to mourn the loss of a little daughter, two and a half years old, Monday, which died of convulsions. It was taken sick Sunday about noon and only lived to Monday forenoon. Surely this is a sudden and shocking bereavement to these good people – one that only those who have given up their precious jewels can fully realize. The remains were taken to Emmetsburg Wednesday morning where they were interred in the Catholic cemetery. (Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, February 6, 1885)
