Mr. Elias Anfinson is Dead
Elias Anfinson died from a relapse suffered following an ulcer operation, at 4:25 this morning. Mr. Anfinson spent two weeks at his home following the operation, but was forced to return to Holy Family hospital, never rallying, until his death this morning.

Born in Cambridge on Oct. 2, 1882, in Story county, he farmed in the Burt, Ceylon, and Dolliver areas until he retired to Estherville in 1935. Mr. Anfinson was married to Bertha Berg at Eagle Grove, Jan. 2, 1914, and was a member of the Estherville Lutheran church.

He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Neils Balmer, of Estherville, and Mrs. Bernard Frey, of Estherville; one son, Floyd of Mason City; two brothers, one sister, and six grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed today but further details will be published in the Daily News tomorrow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 12, 1955)

Anfinson Rites Friday
Funeral services for Elias Anfinson, 72, who died early yesterday morning will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Sandin Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at Estherville Lutheran church. The Rev. L. G. Hinderaker will officiate. Burial will be in Eastside cemetery. Friends may call at the Sandin Funeral Home from 7 p.m. today until time of services. Pallbearers will be V. E. Stone, C. B. Torgeson, Calvin Caywood, Harry Lewis, R. Lodden and Bill Steel, Jr. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 13, 1955)
