Estherville – Funeral services for Mrs. Edward (Maria Louise) Ahrens, Sr., 95, Estherville, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville with the Rev. R. B. Flentgen officiating and burial in the East Side Cemetery. She died Tuesday [June 3, 1975] afternoon at the Good Samaritan Center.

Mrs. Ahrens was born Feb. 8, 1880 in Clinton to William and Caroline Wenzel Mohr and was educated in the Clinton parochial schools. She was married to Edward F. Ahrens Sr. Aug., 29, 1909 at Lyons. They began farming in Dow City in 1909 and moved to Estherville in 1915 where they continued farming. They had been residents of the Good Samaritan Center since 1968.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Sr.; three son, Herman, Seattle, Wash.; Carl and Edward Jr., Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Senne, Plato, Minn.; Pauline Ahrens, El Paso, Tex.; and Mrs. Marie Tirevold, Sherburn; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters and two grandchildren.
