J. S. Sauers [Sauer] Dies In Omaha
Was Enroute Home From Denver, Where He Had Been For His Health
Heart Failure the Cause
Deceased was Brother of H. A. Sauers of Emmet Township and Had Resided in County 9 Years
J. S. Sauers of this city passed away at the city hospital in Omaha, Nebr., Friday, April tenth, at four o’clock of heart trouble. Mr. Sauer had been a resident of this city for years, and has many friends here that will mourn his sudden death. Mr. Sauers was in the office a short time ago, and informed us he was going to Denver to seek relief from asthma. After about a month in Colorado, he started home and being too ill to travel was taken from the train at Omaha, and taken to the hospital. Physicians say Mr. Sauer, has never realized his true condition and that he has been afflicted with heart trouble for some time. With his weakened condition and the deathly grip of pneumonia death came soon.

The remains were brought to Estherville for interment and were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery south of this city on Saturday last, the Rev. Father Murtaugh officiating.

Jacob S. Sauers was born in Lee County, Iowa, in October, 1860. In 1892 he was married to Miss Louise Wilmer at Lansing, Ia. This beloved wife lived only eight months after their marriage. Since coming to Estherville nine years ago, Mr. Sauers occupied his residence on Lincoln street. He is survived by only one brother, H. A. Sauers, who resides north of this city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 15, 1914)
