Mrs. Rogers Dies; Rites are Tuesday
Mrs. Theodore (Margaret T.) Rogers, 80, resident of Estherville since 1958, died yesterday at 3:10 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital. Mrs. Rogers suffered a stroke in September, 1957 and had been in poor health since that time. Mrs. Rogers has been in the hospital since Dec. 12 when she fell at her home and suffered a broken hip.The former Margaret Clayton was born Feb. 22, 1882, at Aplington, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clayton. She was married June 17, 1902 to Theodore Edward Rogers here in Estherville.
Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers lived for a number of years at West Bend and then moved to North Dakota where Mrs. Rogers served as postmaster for 22 years at Zap, N.D. She retired in 1956 and since 1958 she and Mr. Rogers had made their home in Estherville.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband and one sister, Miss Ella Clayton of Estherville. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services are to be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Monsignor James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery.
Rosary is to be recited this evening at 8 o’clock at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening and until time of the services Tuesday.
Pallbearers are to be Clifford Hanson, J. D. Edwards, Joe Chapman, Melvin Nelson, George Calhan and Robert Reiter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 17, 1962)
