Betty Jane Adele Ludwig, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Pauling) McHugh was born January 16, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 77.

She received her education in Milwaukee schools, graduating from Poleski High School.

On March 3, 1956, she was united in marriage to Donald Ludwig at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville where Betty was employed with Dr. Lester's Dental Office for 17 years and she also worked at Anthony's Clothing Store for 15 years. For hobbies, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, canning and most important was her family.

Betty was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of Estherville; daughters, Karen Wuebker and her husband, Wayne of Ayrshire, Iowa; Julie Hamilton and her husband, Jeff of Webb, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Jackie, Tony, Ryan, Andy, Nick, Shana, Rachel, and Nicole.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Kay.
