Estherville – Services for Robert C. Jandl, 48, Estherville, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville, with interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Mr. Jandl was pronounced dead-on-arrival at Holy Family Hospital Friday, April 1, 1977.

Visitation is at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9 a.m. Tuesday, when the body will be taken to the church. A rosary will be said at the funeral home at 5 p.m. today.

Mr. Jandl was born March 21, 1929, at Lone Rock, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Jandl. He received his education in Titonka schools.

He was married March 5, 1951, in Algona to Alice Renicker and served for 1 ½ years in the Army Medical Corps following his marriage, where he was awarded the Korean Service Medel with four bronze stars and also the United Nations Service Medal.

Following Korea the couple lived in Milaca and Hutchinson, Minn., before moving to Estherville in 1967.

Mr. Jandl is survived by his wife, Alice; three sons, John Jandl, Dunnell, Minn., Terry Jandl, Blue Earth, Minn., and Steven Jandl, at home; three daughters, Kathy McKay, Armstrong, Deborah Tiegs, Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Cynthia Jandl, at home; five grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Jandl, Titonka; and three sisters, Mrs. Elda Diers, Bancroft, Mrs. Hanford (Loreen) Borck, Woden, and Mrs. George (Lavina) Sengbrsch, Milica, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 4, 1977)
