Mrs. Helinsky Dies After 3 Month Illness
Mrs. W. P. Helinsky of Estherville, 74, died yesterday at 5:15 p.m. at Holy Family hospital. She had been ill from cancer for three months and a patient at the hospital for three weeks.

Mrs. Helinsky was born Sept. 1, 1873, in Germany and came to the United States with her parents when she was one year old. The family settled on a farm at New Ulm, Minn. her maiden name was Mary Zupher.

The Helinsky’s were married July 17, 1894, and lived until 1895 at Fairmont when they moved to Estherville. They have lived here since.

Mr. and Mrs. Helinsky would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in July. They were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary in July, 1944.

Mrs. Helinsky was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her husband and seven children, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one brother and one sister.

Surviving children are Joseph Helinsky of Bancroft, Mrs. W. H. Mason of Estherville, A. M. Helinsky of Minneapolis, Mrs. Ed Cogger of Minneapolis, Lawrence Helinsky of Minneapolis, Sister Mary Rosalie of Omaha and Sister Mary Rose Marie, of Chicago. Brother surviving is Frank Zupher of New Ulm and sister, Mr. Joe Groebner of Waseca, Minn.

Rosary will be recited at the Helinsky home, 315 Third avenue north, Sunday at 8 p.m. Requiem high mass will be said at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s church with the Rev. Father Francis J. Brady officiating. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1947)

Mrs. Helinsky Succumbs After Long Illness
As a result of a long illness and a serious illness for the past few months, Mrs. W. P. Helinsky passed away at the Holy Family hospital on last Thursday evening at five o’clock. She had been a patient at the hospital the past three weeks and was operated on for cancer a day before her death.

Mrs. Helinsky was born in Germany on September 1, 1873. She came to this country with her parents when she was an infant. The family settled at New Ulm, Minn. She was united in marriage with W. P. Helinsky on July 17, 1894. They live at Fairmont, Minn. until 1905 and moved to this city and have resided here since that time.

Mrs. Helinsky was a devoted mother and lived for her family. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her husband and five children, Joseph Helinsky of Bancroft, Mrs. Wm. Mason of Estherville, A. M Helinsky, Mrs. Ed. Cogger and Lawrence Helinsky of Minneapolis, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held Monday morning from St. Patrick’s Church, the Rev. Father Francis J. Brady officiating. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, May 29, 1947)
