Clayton Rites Tomorrow
A recitation of the rosary for Miss Sylvia Ann Clayton, longtime resident of Estherville, will be held tonight at 8 o’clock at the Sternborg Funeral home and funeral services will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s church. The Rev. Father James Duhigg will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery.

Miss Clayton died Sunday [August 1, 1954] night at Holy Family hospital after an illness of six weeks duration. She was born Aug. 27, 1879 [Per cemetery records, 1878], at Appleton. At the age of four or five, she moved to Kanaranzi, Minn., and then to West Bend. She came to Estherville in 1901. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church. Survivors are two sisters, Miss Ella Clayton of Estherville and Mrs. T. E. Rogers of Zap, N.D. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 3, 1954)
